T O P I C R E V I E WbeccathelionI asked what I needed to do to really jump start my career (I'm transitioning):Current situation: Ace of WandsCompliment/conflicting factor: Queen of CupsReason for situation: 7 of PentaclesRelevant past: EmpressHow querent feels about situation: 6 of SwordsImmediate present: 3 of WandsHow querent feels/wants to about self: Ace of Pentacles (r)Environment around situation: Page of WandsAdvice: Hanged ManOutcome: Page of Swords (with clarifying card of Justice)So... I mean, I get what most of this means, but where I get hung up is the Hanged Man as advice. Is it a patience card? A wait and see? I know it that it can sometimes mean slow down and open up to life. Just be in the moment. Do what you can then, don't charge ahead... Help?tuxedo meowwell, a little insight maybe is The hanged man is there because he wants to be there, it is his choice and then the number 4 figures in- beccathelionThe 4? The shape of him? How does that tie in, just out of curiosity? I've never thought of it in those terms. Kinda cool idea littlecloudIt could mean don't be afraid to make sacrifices...or that sacrifices may be needed. Also interested in Twirl's response. TwirlHey Becca Lol, 'hanged up' over Hanged man. I think you are reading the card right. I do not see any sacrifice though. I do see the impatience in the other cards. You can't seem to wait to get started and manifest this career asap. There is not that much to worry though because it will develop during a 'natural course'. You have what's needed. Lot of 3's showing up also (creating something 'new'/integrating your qualities in a new career. But with everything that's 'new', it takes patience and you can't rush it. It's just beginning to develop (pages). I'm intrigued by the ace pents reversed though. Is that a feeling that you can't accomplish anything? Or is it a 'back to square 1'-idea? Do you (truly) belief in your own qualities? The position wasn't clear to me, because it says; ' how you feel' or 'how you want to feel' (two different things, lol). For the hanged man. So yes, I think it tells you to realise it's a natural process and things will happen over time. But as an extra, it also points out to look back to what you have done so far. A 'life review' (on career). And most importantly: look clearly to what you want to create for yourself (what direction and approach suits you? Do you have a vision? Keep that in mind while walking on your career path). Have that breather, yes. And also: don't start pushing at just everything to have this career quickly manifested. Since you really picked up on the shape of the 4. It represents the material world. Which in the case of the hanged man can only be understood by reflection and pausing (your breather again). Especially in combination with the page of swords right after I would say: examine the self, your thoughts and direction you want to take. Overall I think you are automatically getting there already (jump starting). Hope this helps Edit: just popped in my head. Reflect also on your self beliefs. I think it's time for them to be reviewed and put into 'new perspective'. Look back to all knowledge you have gained so far and give yourself the credit. Saying this cause of ace pents rev + queen of cups. beccathelion quote:Originally posted by Twirl:Hey Becca I'm intrigued by the ace pents reversed though. Saying this cause of ace pents rev + queen of cups. It helps wonderfully! Thanks so much. I had a sneaking suspicion it was telling me to be patient... I have a tendency to drop everything else and run when I really want something, and this is no different. As far as the Ace reversed, you pegged it. I'm about to finish my Master's in Creative Writing... and it's always darkest before the dawn. Especially financially and career wise. I am not entirely sure (though fairly positive) the school's going to hire me on an instructor, which I need to make some money while I transition into TV writing. I also am hard-resetting in other ways. Lots of square ones popping up which I HATE. I have a TON of Leo in my chart, and the one thing I can't stand is looking like a newbie at my job But you're right. I also need to be more proud of myself and have faith in my abilities. It's been a looooooong time coming, but I'm just about there. Because of the Leo placements and Venus in Libra... I get super concerned with being too vain or seeming like a show-off. SO much so that I get self-deprecating... and I'm tired of doing that. I'm a good writer. It's a gift the Universe gave me, and I need to be proud of it and not squander it, you know? Thanks so much, Twirl. Super great insight. Winner of all the awards Twirl quote:Originally posted by beccathelion: Winner of all the awards Lol. You are funny. (And my Leo Sun is thrilled by the thought of all these awards! Gold and all I suppose? )And yes, I get the 'I want it and I want it now' approach, but especially with writing it is an ongoing process that really needs the time to integrate in your being (hanged man). It needs reflecting, integrating and building skill on top of skill which will deepen your work every time. And I say that as a writer (almost ex-writer/changing career after 16 years. Obviously not banning writing for good, impossible).Anyway, I'm sure you are going to do great! And yes, keep this in mind: But you're right. I also need to be more proud of myself and have faith in my abilities. Good luck beccathelionThank you so much. And duh, of course it's gold. Ruby encrusted
